Split System Air Conditioning Perth
RSEG provides split system air conditioning installation, replacement and maintenance for homes, businesses and suitable commercial properties across the Perth metropolitan area. Based in Southern River, our team installs wall mounted split systems designed to provide targeted cooling and heating without the ductwork required by whole building systems.
RSEG works exclusively with split system air conditioners. We do not install ducted or evaporative air conditioning systems.
A split system consists of an indoor unit and an outdoor compressor connected by refrigerant pipework, electrical cabling and condensate drainage. Reverse cycle models can provide both cooling during Perth summers and heating through the cooler months.
Correct system sizing is important for comfort, energy consumption and reliable operation. RSEG can assess the room dimensions, ceiling height, insulation, windows, sun exposure and intended use before recommending an appropriate capacity. The indoor and outdoor unit locations, airflow, drainage, noise, maintenance access and available electrical supply must also be considered.
Our split system services can include new installations, replacement of ageing units, removal of replaced systems, dedicated electrical circuits, isolation switches, switchboard assessment, filter and system cleaning, drainage checks and investigation of electrical or operating problems. Older switchboards may require additional circuit protection or upgrades before a new air conditioner can be connected.
When comparing systems, the Zoned Energy Rating Label can help show how efficiently different models perform in the relevant Australian climate zone. More stars generally indicate lower running costs when systems of a similar capacity are compared and correctly sized.
Air conditioning installation involves regulated electrical and refrigerant work. RSEG ensures each part of the installation is completed by personnel holding the licences appropriate to the work performed.
Frequently Asked Questions

-
RSEG installs wall-mounted split-system air conditioners, including reverse-cycle models. We do not install ducted or evaporative systems.
-
A reverse cycle system provides both cooling and heating by transferring heat between the indoor and outdoor environments.
-
The correct capacity depends on the room size, ceiling height, insulation, windows, sun exposure and how the space is used. Bigger is not always better.
-
Split systems are primarily designed for individual rooms or open areas. One unit may not distribute air evenly through a large or divided home.
-
Yes. The existing electrical circuit, pipework, drainage, mounting and switchboard will be assessed before the replacement is installed.
-
Many systems require a dedicated circuit and suitable protective equipment. The exact requirements depend on the model and existing electrical installation.
-
Not always. An upgrade may be required if the switchboard lacks space, suitable protection or sufficient capacity for the new system.
-
Check and clean the filters regularly during periods of frequent use, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Dirty filters can restrict airflow and reduce performance.
-
Possible causes include a blocked or damaged condensate drain, incorrect drainage, internal contamination or another system fault. Turn the unit off if water is near electrical equipment.
-
RSEG provides the applicable electrical safety documentation for qualifying electrical installation work. The documentation required depends on the work completed.
