EV Charger Installation Perth
RSEG provides electric vehicle charger installation for homes, businesses, workplaces and suitable fleet properties across the Perth metropolitan area. Based in Southern River, our licensed electricians can assess the property, electrical supply and charging requirements before installing a compatible EV charging system.
A dedicated EV charger provides faster, more convenient and more controlled charging than relying on a standard power point. Residential and workplace AC chargers are commonly available from approximately 7 kW to 22 kW, although the actual charging rate depends on the property’s electrical supply, the charger and the vehicle’s onboard charging capacity.
RSEG can install wall mounted EV chargers in garages, carports, driveways, apartment parking areas and commercial premises. We can also assist with replacement chargers, dedicated circuits, circuit protection, isolation equipment, cable routes, switchboard upgrades and suitable three phase installations.
Before installation, the available electrical capacity must be assessed. Adding an EV charger can create significant demand, particularly when air conditioning, ovens, pool equipment or other high powered appliances are operating. Dynamic load management may allow a compatible charger to adjust its output according to the electricity being used elsewhere on the property, helping manage demand without unnecessarily overloading the supply.
Compatible smart chargers may also support scheduled charging, energy use monitoring and solar surplus charging. This can allow the vehicle to use more electricity generated by an existing or future solar system when sufficient excess generation is available.
For businesses, RSEG can assist with workplace charging, staff and visitor chargers and suitable fleet charging projects. The design may consider parking arrangements, access control, cable management, metering, future expansion and how multiple vehicles will share the available electrical capacity.
All fixed electrical work is completed by appropriately licensed electricians. For qualifying electrical installation work, RSEG provides the required electrical safety documentation in accordance with Western Australian requirements.

-
RSEG installs suitable AC electric vehicle chargers for homes, workplaces and fleet properties, subject to the project requirements and available electrical supply.
-
Charging speed depends on the charger output, whether the property has single-phase or three-phase power and the maximum AC charging rate supported by the vehicle.
-
Not necessarily. Many homes use a 7 kW single-phase charger. Higher-output 11 kW or 22 kW charging generally requires a suitable three-phase supply.
-
Some vehicles can charge from a suitable standard outlet using approved equipment, but charging is slower and the outlet and circuit must be appropriate for sustained use.
-
Not always. RSEG will assess the switchboard, circuit protection, available capacity and electrical supply before confirming whether an upgrade is required.
-
Dynamic load management allows a compatible charger to reduce or increase charging output based on the electricity being used elsewhere at the property.
-
Yes. A compatible smart charger may be configured to use available excess solar generation, depending on the solar system, charger and monitoring equipment.
-
Yes, provided the selected charger is suitable for outdoor use and the installation location, exposure and cable route are appropriate.
-
Yes. RSEG can assist with suitable workplace and fleet installations, including multiple chargers, load management and planning for future expansion.
-
No. Vehicle to home or vehicle to grid operation requires compatible bidirectional equipment, a suitable vehicle and a specifically designed electrical system.
